| | SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2011 | | In An Instant | Out of nowhere, in an instant, our life can change forever. We all know this, and yet even though it is a certainty, we feel the death of dreams and the dullness of a planned-out life, rather than the immanence of any celestial movement casting a scent in our direction. We do not see our death step one day closer every day. And if we could see that angel across the field, for every step a week, and then, for every step a day, and then, for every step an hour, when would we actually start to change in the ways that we all hope that we will before we die?
Here is something you should know. The world has changed; all bets are off. Sieze the moment, or die unmade and soon forgotten, even by your self. | | Sep 03, 2011 @ 8:57 AM | 0 comment(s) |
| | THURSDAY, AUGUST 25, 2011 | | Salude! | Hurricane Irene rushes in today with a radiance unknown. A trillion becquerels of light pour from Japan, toasting the world. Salude! In the warrior's mind, it is a good day to die; be brave! For those of us who are lucky enough to breathe a breath of good air, let us celebrate the day! For those who aren't, let us celebrate the day anyway! Let us remember ourselves, when we were brave and kind and free. The surf is high in the fragile world of humanity. I recommend that you consider riding this wave that now bears down upon us all. That is the choice we face. Where is our place on this mighty wave? Surfing is a high art. If you are not fully present and proactive in the sea, then you soon find yourself floating in the kill zone. I have been in this zone many times; I never liked it. It is delusion and denial that lead us there. It is self serving and greed that keep us there. There is only one way out that I have ever found: surrender to the good and the sea will set you free. Ride the wave, and get the thrill of your life.
Run in fear, and you will join the army of the damned. Life is way too short to hide from the greatness within. Reveal your goodness and put your daily bread upon the world's plate. It is a game of the loaves and the fishes; the smallest offering can save the world, if the spirit is with you and the moment is right. The hunger is growing in our diminishing world. Be a baker, not a taker, and find your place upon the wave. | | Aug 25, 2011 @ 8:34 AM | 0 comment(s) |
